Wow. Honestly the attention to detail Blakes has is 10/10. This was our first time visiting as we were on a weekend trip away. The staff were great, very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The food we had was delicious and was a good price for the portion served. I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. Even though it was a little busy there was not a long wait for 4 people.

The loveliest cafe with the most amazing pancakes!! It's so popular that the girls there always look run off their feet but they still manage fantastic service and amazing food! Even if you have to wait for a table it's more than worth the wait.

Came here with my husband in January 2024 around 11:00am. We were greeted by a slightly unenthused member of staff and informed that there was a 30 minute wait on tables but there was a high table available. I was 33 weeks pregnant at the time and struggled to sit in the chair but managed. Our orders were taken quickly and our drinks were promptly brought. Not even 5 minutes after sitting down 2 lower seated chairs were vacated. Then 2 minutes later another 2 tables were vacated. I was a little miffed as we were told it was a 30 minute wait on a table so i assumed people had only just sat down. However, the food came quickly and hot and was beautifully presented. It tasted great too. I would highly recommend the pancakes. Overall a great place to stop for Breakfast/Brunch. The squiffy time management and slightly moody staff member has not dissuaded me from visiting again.

The food was okay and well presented, unfortunately our drinks didn’t arrive as the waitress was too busy flirting even after we’d asked about them. When they finally arrived they were the wrong drinks, so we decided to leave and for some reason she was surprised by this. Maybe write your number down on a couple napkins and you can hand them out through out the day to speed things up?xx

But if a wait for the food but when it came it did not disappoint. The menu on the face of it seemed unusual and nothing jumped out at me so I ordered a simple ham and mustard sandwich with a side order of home made chips. Absolutely delicious. Far exceeded my expectations. And watching everything else coming out. Wow. Fresh, homemade. Delicious. The waffle or pancake stacks are truly photo worthy! If you are not in a rush, definitely recommend.

One of us got the medium sized breakfast and they let us swap the eggs for an extra hash brown. This was a really good portion! Yes you do pay more than most cafes however, the high quality of the ingredients reflects that. Another got the white chocolate and raspberry pancakes which were amazing 😍

Lovely small place. Food was excellent and we'll presented and the customer service was perfect. Going to the extra effort to cut up a slice of toast for our 5 month old.

Gorgeous food and fantastic customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone. I took my 90 year old grandma here and every time I ask where she wants to go for food she always suggests this place - she loves it! There’s normally a short wait to get a table but I never mind this as it gives you chance to look round the garden centre for a bit!
Parking: Plenty of space to park, limited disabled spaces though.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get into the cafe, all on ground level.

Such an amazing place to go. The staff are amazing, the food is sublime with the highest level of detail. We had the Grinch pancakes which were lovely and a nice seasonal twist. Even if you don't need anything from the garden centre, you'll have a lovely time here.
Parking: Parking in the garden centre car park

As we made our way down from Leeds to Blake’s for a birthday celebration treat by the enticement of the the photos, the place was one of three options and it was decided that we head to eat here.
I ordered pancakes, bacon, eggs with maple syrup (pictured) with a large latte. And my friend ordered biscoff waffles with an indulgent hot chocolate.
The wait wasn’t long for food. And the drinks arrived shortly after the food was served, all round good timing ratio from seat, order taken to serving.
However, the pancakes did not come with maple syrup but golden syrup?! There’s noticeably a huge difference in taste and customers should be made aware. The eggs that came with the pancakes were served with dirty excess oil and had been cooked in oil which had evidently been used to cook something to do with onions (cross contamination) comes to mind, and the under side of the eggs were overcooked. Having pushed the eggs too aside I ate what I could.
Waffles - would’ve been much better should they have been freshly made to order, not shop bought/from a packet. Very dry and crumbly. Not much on the plate to accommodate the dryness.
I see a lot goes into the presentation of your food, as people eat with their eyes. But not always. You can serve what you serve all day, but it lacks taste. Is anybody in house tasting/rating these dishes from time to time?
The drinks were great! Lovely coffee and at relatively fair price too. Top marks!
Over all great reception, and greeting from welcoming waitresses. With it been the colder days (today being one) it would’ve been lovely to have seen that real fire roaring away in the corner! Such a shame to not have that it in use?
